This week, PIBA released two major updates to the partner visa protocols:
- Protocol 5.2.0008 (נוהל הטיפול במתן מעמד לבן זוג זר הנשוי לאזרח ישראלי), which applies to married couples;
- Protocol 5.2.0009 (נוהל הטיפול במתן מעמד לבני זוג של ישראלים, לרבות בני אותו מין), which applies to non-married couples and same-sex couples.
Prior to this latest update, the spouse visa protocol 5.2.0008 had been more recently updated and reviewed. As a result, many of the current revisions to protocol 5.2.0009 were intended to align it with the spouse visa protocol.
Despite this, the July update also introduce several brand-new policies that apply to both procedures, with some very good news. Let’s dive in!
