The Israeli Association for International Couples is recruiting volunteers for key management positions!

We are looking for both Israelis and foreigners, preferably those who are part of the international couples community and are going through the gradual process, or completed it. New to the associaion and its activity? Read more about us.

All positions in the organization and all people working in the organization are volunteers! This is your time to give back to the community. A little investment of time goes a long way – Join us!

Social Media Manager

Scope: From 10 monthly hours.

Details: We are looking for someone who lives and breathes social media! A true storyteller that wants to show to the world how special our community is, and also help other couples in pursuing their shared life in Israel.

The social media manager will determine the social media strategy of the organization and implement it, upload posts, stories and updates for the community and about the community. Some who can look for new content ideas on their own, but can also work in a team.

We want you to be proactive and passionate but you are not alone – The social media manager will work alongside the chairwoman and graphic designer of the organization, in order to create the best, most engaging and important content.

Requirements:

1. Passionate and proactive
2. Active on social media in your regular day to day (including Instagram and Facebook) – Must
3. Fluent in English – Must
4. Fluent in Hebrew (written) – Big advantage

Fundraising Manager

Scope: From 10 monthly hours.

Details: One of the most important aspects of an nonprofit organization is its sustainability. The organization’s life depends on generating an income by getting donations, grants and support from the community and the public. Specifically, the first two years of the organization are the most difficult for fundraising but also the most crucial.

We are looking for someone with hopefully some experience in the non-profit world and fundraising. The job includes staying in touch with donors, encouraging donations and creating campaigns, searching for relevant support programs, applying for grants, communicating the importance of the organization etc.

Requirements:

1. Excellent writing ability
2. A true go-getter, doesn’t take no for an answer 🙂
3. Experience in fundraising or a great self-learning capabilities
4. Active in our Facebook community – Big advantage

Audit Committee Member

*This is an official public position, members are listed in the association’s list of functionaries*
This position is relevant for Israelis only.

Scope: small scope.

Details: Every nonprofit organization is Israel must appoint at least 2 members to the organization’s audit committee. The committee’s duty is to make sure everything in the organization is done appropriately. These are the responsibilities of the committee:

• Check the integrity of the association’s operations and its institutions, check the proper management of the association, savings, efficiency, effectiveness and ethicality.
• Make sure the association is working towards achieving its official goals efficiently and economically;
• Follow the implementation of the decisions of the general meeting and the board;
• Suggest to the board ways to correct deficiencies in management.
• Review the association’s financial affairs, its bookkeeping and payments, including the designation of the association’s funds to the promotion of its goals;
• Review the scope of the accountant’s work and his salary;
• Check any other issue related to the activity of the association.

Because we are talking about a brand new association, without any employees or big funds, the job of the audit committee is very minimal. It will be mostly required at the end of the year – to review some reports that are created by the board and the accountant. By law, the committee is required to hold only one meeting per year (can be an online meeting).

Being a functionary in a registered association is a real prestigious position that people are fighting for. Now, it could be you!

Events Manager

Scope: Per event.

Details: Have you been to our opening event and thought to yourself how come this community of wonderful people isn’t getting together more often? Is meeting and interacting with people in the real world your thing? Love human connections, hosting and making sure everything ticks so everyone has a great time?

We want you as our event manager!

Since our opening event, which was huge success, we’ve been flooded with requests of creating more events for the community of International Couples in Israel. They could be big or small, spontaneous or organized, they could be small initiatives all around the country or one big central event – it’s up to you to set them in motion!

Creating community events is one of our registered goals and we are eager to see it take off!

Requirements:

Website Content Manager

Scope: From 10 monthly hours.

Details: The organization’s website is the most important outlet of the organization. It is the most reliable, accurate and elaborate source of information for international couples in Israel – and one of the only sources available in English.

Our goal is to extend the website, enrich it with more content, translate the existing content to Hebrew (and maybe additional languages in the future) and recruit volunteer content writers that will fill in information gaps and add more value to the website.

We are looking for someone with great managing skills to take care of this entire operation – with the main and most important goal being the translation project. The website manager will work together with Adv. Lior Beres and the developer of the website.

Requirements:

1. Native level Hebrew
2. Fluent English (Native speaker – big advantage)
3. Knows their way around WordPress
4. Excellent writing ability
5. Capable of recruiting and managing additional volunteers

SEO Project Manager

Scope: From 5 monthly hours.

Details: The organization’s website is the most important outlet of the organization. It’s the front door to the organization for many couples who are just starting to think about their shared life in Israel. Right now, search engines are dominated by websites of lawyers, that many times are outdated, and push people into hiring very pricey representation.

We want to be the first result any international couple sees!

We are looking for someone with some experience in SEO for WordPress sites. Some SEO configurations have already been implemented in our website. The SEO manager will be in charge of editing SEO snippets for our existing and new posts and pages, and working alongside the web developer in making sure all the relevant search words are appearing.

Requirements:

1. Fluent English – Must (Native speaker – big advantage)
2. Knows their way around WordPress
3. Excellent writing ability
4. Loves content
5. Experience in English SEO – big advantage

Spokesperson/PR person

Scope: From 10 monthly hours.

Details: The Israeli Association for International Couples is a brand new association! And as such, we need to make sure that we get noticed by the public. Over the years, PIBA has made sure that out community stays out of the public eye, making it seem like some marginalized phenomena that should be disregarded. Not anymore!

The community of international couples in Israel consist of no less than 39,000 couples! That’s about 80,000 people, and 1 out of 245 Israelis who are doing the gradual process. It doesn’t make sense that the Israeli society is not aware of our story and our hardships. This is why we are looking for you!

We are looking for a passionate spokesperson to push through doors (and emails) and get our association to the front of the stage! Someone who preferably has contacts and knowledge of how Israeli media works – TV, newspapers, radio, magazines and more! Someone who doesn’t get discouraged when they hear no, and keeps on pushing!

Requirements:

1. Fluent Hebrew – Must (Native speaker – big advantage)

3. Passionate and determined
4. Some Israeli chutzpa 🙂

Policy and Collaborations Coordinator

Scope: From 10 monthly hours.

Details: Join our founder, Adv. Lior Beres in one of the most important tasks of the organization – promoting policy changes, voicing the interest of the community to lawmakers and government officials, and ensuring the just treatment of international couples in Israel.

In this position you will work with Lior in writing letters, emails, and official applications to parliament members, politicians and governmental authorities officials with the goal of achieving a better life for international couples in Israel. In addition, we will look into and create collaborations with public commercial entities, that can benefit the community of international couples in Israel, such as insurance companies, banks, HMOs etc.

Requirements:

1. Native Hebrew

Facebook Community Moderator

Scope: From 10 monthly hours.

Details: We know there were a few people waiting for this opening! We are now recruiting new moderators for the most amazing, special, supportive Facebook community out there: Mixed Couples in Israel.

The moderator’s job is to “stay on top of things” – approve new members to the group, read posts and comments, make sure all the content in the group follows the group rules, provide accurate information to group members, refer members to our website for help and just be there for the community.

This position is time consuming and we expect people who join the administration team to be committed to it. At the end of the day, the personal support of each other and the community is the heart of our work!

Requirements:

1. Very active member of our Facebook community – MUST
2. Fluent English – Must
3. Fluent Hebrew (written) – Big advantage
4. Cares about helping people
5. Well organized and great attention to detail
6. Team player
7. Extensive experience with the partner visa procedures – Big advantage
